StopHate.org has recorded that in 2020 - 2021 there was an increase of 19% in reported race related hate crimes and an increase of 16% transphobic hate crimes in the UK compared to the previous year. Stonewall have reported a 11% increase in hate crimes against LGBTQ+ people. And with hate fuelled speech in the media there is a vital need to push back.
Art & design has proven to be a successful way to do this, time and again.
A common theme in hate speech is the 1 dimensional view of any individual or group of people. This zine takes the view that everyone is multi faceted and we are all more that just what someone sees (or thinks they see) on the surface.
